benvenuti in the very first lesson of this course.

This first Unit (Unità 1) focuses on Italian Sounds. In order to learn Italian pronounciation is certainly important to become familiar with the different types of sounds that we have in Italian.

Today you will learn the Italian Alphabet and how to pronounce each letter in Italian. This is important to know since in this course we are going to talk about letters a lot and knowing how to refer to them in Italian is fundamental!

We will start with some simple words that you might have heard before and they are great examples of some aspects of pronounciation that we will cover through this course. We will stop on a few words to observe and compare some phonetic traits that we will examine more in depth in the next lessons.
